Karla watched as she fell and laughed quietly. “Hello.” She said and smiled. She got up and walked over to the girl lying on the floor. “What’cha doing?” She asked as she sat down across from her. The snow gave her legs a nice feeling; cold, but nice.

Serena giggled as she sat straight back down in the snow alongside the girl and tilted her head back. “I was spinning around, it’s fun.” She said simply before realising how stupid she must sound, “It’s an easy way to forget things, like the fact I don’t have a date to that party in three days.” She sighed sadly, squeezing her eyes shut as she did. Why was she even complaining to this girl she didn’t know? 

Karla laughed. “Well, I don’t have a date either, but you’ll probably get one.” She said and sighed. “Unlike me, I’m forever alone.” She said matter of factually. “Well, there is one guy.. but..” She said and then shook her head as if shaking the thought. Why was she saying this? Why did she think anyone was going to care anyway. She shrugged. “Whatever.” She said and laughed. “I’m Karla.” She said looking at the other girl.
